Earlier today, Mayor Mitch Reeves kept his word and advised us that today he received notice that the City staff had signed off on the Gate preliminary site development permit. Gate Petroleum was notified yesterday, February 9.
The approval was not unexpected based on the City Manager's comments Monday night that it was ready to go.
Based on Section 24-49 of the City Code "appeals of a decision of the community development director may be made to the city commission by any adversely affected person(s)...Such appeal shall be filed in writing with the city clerk within thirty (30) days after rendition of the decision or determination being appealed.
Based on this timing, the last day to make an appeal by any adversely affected person would be March 9, 2016. At the end of the appeal period, the City Commission will set a hearing date with proper public notice.
We will keep you informed on this site as to next steps we are taking - and next steps you may want to consider taking.
